Illegal Immigration Debate Tonight!
6 03 2008A panel discussion on illegal immigration is going to be held tonight at the Library Center on South Campbell in Springfield. (That’s the library south of James River Expressway.) The event is scheduled to begin at 7pm.
On the panel are three people for whom it’s pretty obvious which side they’re on…Yolanda Lorge of Grupo Latinoamericano de Springfield, Tony Messenger of the Springfield News-Leader and Vincent David Jericho of KSGF. It should make for a very spirited discussion and hopefully a good in-depth look at an issue that is pivotal in the upcoming Presidential election.
Now, if you can’t make it or if you just can’t miss American Idol, never fear! I spoke with one of the organizers of the event, Steve Helms, and I will be recording the entire event to post on this blog later tonight. So you will be able to hear the event in its entirety and make up your own minds about what was said and the points that are raised. That way when the spin starts tomorrow morning you’ll have the unedited audio to listen to and compare to what you see in the newspaper and hear on the radio.
I don’t know if they’ll allow questions from the general public but if so I’ll be happy to ask them questions you post in the comments of this blog entry.
